The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
- we’ve been doing it for years.

Maidenhead 21st have been running successful DofE courses for over 20 years and our volunteer leaders have helped Scouts and Explorers to achieve Bronze, Silver and Gold awards.

Whatever their ability, interest or background, DofE offers young people the chance to strive for achievement, overcome obstacles, and set their minds to a personal challenge.

Wherever you’re at, whatever else you’ve done up until now, if you’re between 14-24, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is for you. This is for the gamers, skaters, bikers and bakers. The dress-makers, film-makers and change-makers. The just-out-of-bedders, wheelchair-racers, dancers, DJs and none-of-the-abovers.

Whoever you are, this is you and your friends sharing amazing experiences, having fun and just maybe changing your futures along the way. The DofE helps to turn the things you love, and the things you’ve always wanted to try, into powerful lifelong skills that can help you get a job, change your community and take on anything life throws your way. And yes, there’s going to be a bit of camping involved.

FAQs

Why do DofE with Maidenhead 21st?

We already run a programme of Scouting activities throughout the year so we’re able to offer support to youngsters and tailor a DofE programme to suit individual needs. We are an accredited organisation and the programme approved by Berkshire Scouts.

What about costs?

We’re able to keep costs low as we’re all volunteer leaders and don’t rely on external expedition companies. For instance, a typical Bronze Award and Expedition would cost approx £30.00 (subject to change).

What’s included?

The programme is run along side our regular Scouts and Explorers meetings. Participants get mentoring support throughout the programme in pursuing their Volunteering, Physical, Skills and Expedition sections.
